Lowell & Evans Green Infrastructure and Design Project 2026
March 24 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

Join for Q&A at the Harvey Park Rec Center with DOTI at 9am!
The Denver Department of Transportation & Infrastructure (DOTI) will install green infrastructure at the southeast corner of the intersection at S. Lowell Blvd and W. Evans Ave in the Harvey Park neighborhood. Green infrastructure captures and filters polluted stormwater runoff at its source, helping protect the water quality of Sanderson Gulch and the South Platte River. This project builds upon work developed in 2017/2018 and incorporates public feedback received in 2024.
While the primary objective is to manage stormwater runoff, the project also provides other community benefits such as:
- A beautiful green space for the community with new sidewalks and walkways
- New tree canopy to cool the streets and sidewalks
- Removal of more than a quarter acre of hot, underutilized asphalt paving
- Increased safety for pedestrians and bicyclists by narrowing crossings and calming vehicular traffic
